Berkley has come out with a new Dyneema based, fine diameter line for UL, Light and medium applications. It is called "Nanofil" and it's not the same as their heat fused Fireline, but instead, a single, round filament.

Casting distances and strength are it's earmarks. Should be great in 2# test for panfishing or 8# test (16# test break!) for bass & walleye.....and more. Here's a link to an interesting product test:

Here's in interesting video about the line from Gander Mountain:

Just ordered a spool of the 10# test from BPS. They don't carry the 2# test, which I was very interested in for UL crappie fishing. The 10# should be a good all-around line for medium applications. I'll let you know how I like it when it comes in.

In a few weeks, I'm going to be taking a trip to Cabelas; I'll get the 2# test there.

I'm very new to this board, but from reading your posts Ive found you to be quite in the know about a lot of things Im not so good with. Have you used this line? I'm experimenting with Spider Wire EZ Mono. But the Gander Mountain vid really caught my attention with not a mono, not a fluro, and not a braid..
Where do you see this like finding its niche?
Somewhat new to Bass fishing, I'm experimenting with a lot, but I know line is one of the more critical elements. I would say I'm most into Spinner Baits, 3/8 to 3/4 oz. I'm buying crank baits, and wanting to learn to use them, but most people Ive talked to are after Crappie.. However I have actually been given a few tiny cranks (these are for Crappie.. right?)
If you've used this line, let me know how it did? Thanks in advance!
