Found this video on the history and development of the Record & Ambassadeur baitcasting reels. A video masterpiece on a masterpiece of a reel:

I have a personal fondness for the Ambassadeur reels. Got my first back in the '60's and five more over the years. The two oldest models have been passed down to my kids...who will be passing them down to their kids, for sure.

I still own & use 4 of these fine reels. And regardless of who's in the boat with me, or what they are using, I can keep up with the best of 'em. >/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

I own 3 that I use in saltwater and they are as good as the day I took them out of the box. I'm sure they will be around for generations.
