Treasure Coast Fishing Report: Nov. 10
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

Tina Heinz, of Stick Marsh Bait and Tackle in Fellsmere, said the speck fishing has been pretty good at Farm 13 and the bass fishing isn't bad at Lake Garcia. Gambler worms, white spinner baits and shiners will get the bass. Working small jigs with red-headed minnows along the hyacinth mats will bring out the specks. In the surf, the whiting are showing up again and soon the pompano will come in better numbers. The water temperature is slowly dropping so the jacks and bluefish are on the move as well.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Capt. Fox Watkins, of Ruby Gene charters in Fort Pierce, was unable to take some repeat clients offshore earlier in the week due to high winds. So aboard a Twin Vee, Watkins elected to slow-troll live finger mullet behind the boat while staying in the Indian River. Manatees and porpoises were on display, but the Janiszewski family from New Jersey had plenty of action, too, with jacks and flounder. Brian, 6, and C.J., 11, each caught and released their first snook caught along the mangrove shoreline south of Jaycee Park.

MARTIN COUNTY

Capt. Jake Farley, of Finest Kind charter boat in Stuart, went 2-for-2 on sailfish Friday and got into a few bonitos, but many boats did not leave the inlet. Fishing conditions should be a little better today and Sunday with seas at 3-to-5 feet. Inshore, the trout bite has picked up with the cooler water temperature along the western shore of the lagoon. Try fishing topwater lures slowly in 2-3 feet of water on the flats near Indian Riverside Park or behind Conchy Joe's.

LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Capt. Mike Shellen, of Okeechobeebassfishing.com, said fishing Friday wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Bass bit pretty well with his charter catching 18 or 19 fish including a 7-pounder and an 8-pound, 12-ounce fish. Only trouble was, the bite was fast and furious up until about 8:30 a.m. Shellen said water temperatures at the lake and in the tributaries that feed into it have dropped 15-16 degrees in the past three weeks and that has probably effected the feeding patterns of the fish.
