Short srikes on the worm.

Lately it has been alot colder and the water temp has dropped alot.Still around 55 degrees or so.But lately when fishing a worm my bites have been lighter and real short.Does this normaly happen during colder winter months?Seems to me they hit stronger when it warmer.Is this right?

Bass are much more active in warmer water and they have bigger appitites. Try downsizing your worm and rigging. Below 55 degrees I much prefer a bass jig and pig/ Good luck, Johnnie

I fish alot of clear ponds,darl brown ponds,and tidy bowl blue ponds.What colors would you recomend??Thanx,You got a fishin bud in myrtle beach if ya ever come down.

For clear ponds try purple or watermelon seed. For darker water brown, black or black/blue work very well and for in-between colored water I like Watermelon, black/blueflake and natural crawfish colored worms. Good luck. JC

I agree with Jonnie! Dark water dark worm,blue fleck power worms/black blue, clear water you want the natural colors, watermelon, green pumkin, smoke colors.

Went to bass pro and got some baby cawfish brown pumpkinseed.Man that was the right bait for that time.My friend had a big crawfish and nothing.Caught and released 5 in undr a hour.Wind was cold today but worth it.

I went from a 6 inch worm down to a 4 inch senko worm and all is good.Thanx for the help guyz.

For me I drop shot or split shot Roboworm Leeches this time of year...of course here in Cali I throw them year round. I also throw 1/8 oz Finesse Jigs with a small craw trailer this time of year.

Thanx alot for that article.Good read , I was woundering about high and low pressure and its effects on bass. See for me low pressure more times than not means good surf.I have been fishing a green and pink 4" senko and have been lighting them up everywhere i go fishing lately.I just caught my biggest bass to date a 6.7 pounder she was about 22 and half inches long.
If Geobass reads this he gave me that one with the weightless senko.Thanx man for the tip.Wish i could return the favor.But thanx again brendon you have been a ton of help.
