Castaic Lagoon 3/2/08
Hello everybody, the castaic lagoon is the small lake of castaic lake in southern california.
Well, i caught nothing but he is what happened.
i got there around 6:00 in the morning and decided to pick up some crawdads form the mini market just a minute away. I started out throwing a huddleston swimbait for about an hour then switched over to a shaky rigged 7in roboworm in tequila sunrise. When i got nothing on that i switched to a yamamoto lizard with nothing. after about 2 hrs in one spot and people asking me about my huddleston, i moved to the fishing dock. i stayed about an hour with no bites
overall, the lake is very tough right now and high winds
geobass, i need some help!!
I also saw butch brown if you guys know him

swimbait101... I've been told when it's windy swimbaits slow just below the surface can be killer.
Also, when it's windy if you are into plastics try some heavily weighted Carolinal rigs with a long tagline, like three feet. The heavy weight will let ya cast farther into the wind and also help keep your worm from moving around too much.
And remember this.... no matter how hard it may get at the Lagoon, stick with it. Sooner or later you are bound to get yourself a trophy bass there if put your all into it.
Good fisning to ya, later......... geobass

Thanks Geo,
I have learned that topwaters are BAD on windy days because the surface is already flopping around
