Pflueger Trion?

Post by JT_BAGWELL »

Have any of you used the Plueger Trion reels? I came across these new reels in the most recent Bass Pro Shops catalog and they look pretty decent but, I can't find anywhere local that has them. I had a very bad experience this past tournament season with the quantum reels I was using. I went through 6 of them and their customer service was HORRIBLE so I am switching to a different brand. My first choice was the Curado (because I can't afford to spend $1,500 on all new Chronarchs) but after seeing the Trion it got my attention.

Anyways if you have any input I am all ears.

Thanks

Jeremiah, can't help you with the trions and I can't even imagine a $1500. reel. Is that for one hundred? You guys are constantly embarrassing me with your reel and rod combinations. I look at my old South Bends and want to cry. However; they still work. Wonder what happened at Shimano with the service, it's good to find out now, instead of after the fact. By the way J.T. can you get my show in Rock Island? Should be able to, if not, I'll talk louder. Keep in touch, Johnnie Crain Iowa Pro Staff.

LOL Johnnie,

The $1500 wasn't for one reel it is for about 6. They are the ones I would like to use but I don't have a Reel sponsor YET.

We can get your show in Rock Island in our cars. I don't know if it has something to do with home stereo antenas or what. I am off sunday so you can bet I will be listening. Whenever you need a dumb city guy to talk to on your show again, you have my number.

I have not used the Trion but I have been using the Plueger Sumit reel. Man I love that reel. It is really smooth and easy casting. I'm sure the Trion would even be better. It was on my Christmas list but now its on the Birthday list too. lol. If you get one let me know how you like it. I went with the summit because it was a little cheaper, but you cant tell it. Now I see that they are about the same price at BP.

Jeremiah, I have a Trion reel and will not trade it for anything. I purchased it from my Uncle's tackle store the first day he got them. Went back a week later to buy another and the remaining six had already been sold. Everyone that purchased one is in love with them. He tried to order another six but was unsuccessful for the entire summer. Distributer said they couldn't keep them in stock. That says a lot about the reel.

Thanks for the input guys. I am just really nervous about buying reels right now after the incidents I mentioned earlier.

Thanks again
