Lunkernut...your in for a treat it's a great lake. If the waters high say around 305-310 it's gonna be unreal. Bring your flipp'n stick and some water b/c your gonna get tired of flipp'n in the bushs. If you get on the right pattern it can be unreal. If the water is around 300 or lower it's gonna be a different lake. Most guys will be doing two things carolina rigg'n or flipp'n. What tournament are you talking about?. Is it a BFL(Walmart Bass Fishing League) if so i'll see you there. Last year i think a guy swimm'n a jig won it. I finished 30th there in April caught most of mine on c-rig and spinnerbait early morning. Try darker colors on the c-rig if it's tough throw a bright color.

Lunkernut you are really going to enjoy that body of water. I fish it every year with the club that I belong to . We normally fish it the 3rd weekend in May, but the last 2 yrs we have fished it in early April. Last year the water was way down below normal pool. Just about everyone was c-riggiing off secondary points with 8inch mag lizards (green pumkin- chart dyed tails). Little Nutbush at the lower end can be pretty productive. You can log on to the following website for info on- pool level- tourney results- maps- etc. Kerr Lake/Buggs Island Fishing Report.com It is put out by the Army Corps of Engineers. I hope it helps . Good luck & Tight Lines
