problem w/ rigging Mad Man craw tubes.

Post by Curado24 »

I just picked up some Mad Man craw tubes and was very excited about using them on the water, they just look great! Well, I texas rigged them with a 1/8 bullet sinker and had some problems. The bait just would swim right, and it would roll around and twist my line. Whats the proper way to rig these baits? I've heard that you should put some Storm Suspend strips on the hook. I've also heard that you can rig them to a jig head. I just want to use these baits and feel that they would catch those hard to bite fish but I just don't know how to rig them to where they will swim right.

Had the same problem, what worked for me was a jig head or a weighted hook (like a jig head, but with the weight a little lower on the hook). Hope that helps out.

Hey guy's check out www.madmanlures.com, there web site shows how to rigs these bad boys... Use them myself, I like the smaller craws I use a weighted number 3 or 4 wide gap hook with different weights, this keeps the bait on the bottom and crawling.

I've tried the jig head hook and had trouble with the bait turning not too bad for hopping the bait down a 45 degree bank. Most of the time I like to C-rig these baits and drag then very slow over humps , and over rock ledges. Check out the web site good pic's and help desk.

I have a friend who is excellent fishing tubes. He bought Mad Man craw Tubes and just couldn't get bit with them. He gave them all to his buddy (who loves them!)and went back to regular tubes.

Thanks for posting. Much obliged.

Hey Guys!! Me and my partner did some experimeting with those this past weekend after this post and found out an AWSOME way to rig these mad man craws! Go and get some of the stand up jig heads and rig them up that way...make sure the jig head is at the tail of course and bring the hook out through the back of the body...makes it weedless and fish on!!! I plan on trying this way for the DOD Tournament!!!
