Thanks much! I can spend my money on better items.
PS; A lot of my fishing is in very heavy cover, or docks and such. Could not really see how a BSX would help considering my style.
I do very well on swim jigs in deep water but thats not my normal deal.

Biosonix unit thoughts?
Hey Butch,
When does fishing really slow down in your area? I mean what month?
Just wondering...

Mid October, bass move out to 8-15 feet. I drag the swim jig with a zoom speed craw trailer during the late season as water temps dive below 60 degrees.
I put the boat away in NOV and take it out in April.

Sounds similar to over here in NY. Past few years we've been lucky and didn't have to stop fishing except for about a two week period.
Do you do any ice fishing at all?

Ice fishing! At one point in my life I had just about everything one could have: Shanty, power auger, heater, tip ups, remote sending units to alert me of flags, TV, stereo, and countless others. Mainly I fished for walleyes in the winter with either my buddy's or my girls. Buddy's quit fishing because the wife complained, my girls grew up and ice fishing alone got to be no fun. About 5 years ago my wife had a garage sale, I put all of my fishing stuff out. The 3rd person at the sale bought everything I had. He was so happy it looked like you had won the lotto. For me: I was happy to see that someone could get some enjoyment out of the stuff. Only thing I kept: 3 beaver dam tip ups that I got from the person who got be into bass fishing 26 years ago. He is now gone! PS: I guess I'm a little soft: I also carry my father-in-laws Uni-Spin in my bass boat at every tourney to remember him as he is no longer with us.

Wow, sounds like you were really into to it. I have dabbled, but never got as far as you did. I know what you mean about fishing with a buddy or you children... I can't imagine wanting to freeze alone! Anyway, it's good to know, now I can pester you with ice fishing questions. lol
As for you being a little soft... there's a difference between being soft and remembering the people in our lives that ment a lot to us. You are not alone there my friend... it's those who worry about what people will think and therefore do not keep the memories of their loved ones and spirit with them who are soft.

BioSonix, now theres another topiic dear to my heart. My partner and I both have one and will never ledge fish in the summer on Kentucky Lake again without one. They are phenominal!!
We have never had any issues and I may be crazy, well I know Im crazy, but that being another topic, when the shad activity slows and the fish become inactive, turn the unit on and start watching. Almost instantly the shad will start flickering and the bass will start biting. Its not the "end all" of gadgets that make bass jump in the boat, but it will definately add some pounds and ounces to your livewell.

Alright, we've got someone with first hand experience... Kevin, have you used the unit in lakes where there were other baitfish besides shad? I guess I'm trying to figure out if this unit is only good on places like Kentucky Lake where shad are the key to everything?
Thanks,
