I'm in the process of evaluating Iron Silk for another bass club, but due to the extreme weather right now I haven't been to the lake. I'll post asap!

Iron Silk is a cool line! I got a sample from a berkley rep. I'm using it on my baitcaster and it works pretty good.

I started using Iron Silk at the end of last season, and really like it so far. In fact, I like it well enough that all of my casting outfits (except for a couple with Gorilla Braid for flipping/pitching), will be filled with this line next season.

I didn't try it for ice fishing, but it really doesn't seem to be right for the colder weather. Anyway, I have the 10 to 17 pound tests, and for the ice I use 3 to 6 pound test (that's another subject).

Thanks Eric and Dan.
Dan, I thought they stopped making Gorilla braid. I still have about 20 spools of different tests; (my local Walmart was giving it away 6 years ago for $2 a spool).

There is going to be another line for us to try once the water is open again. Pure Fishing just sent me two sample spools of the new Spider Wire Stealth. One is 50 pound test, with a 12 pound diameter, while the other is 30 with an 8 pound diameter. It comes in dark green and yellow colors. There is a coating, which is supposed to produce quiet and smooth casting.

I'll let all of you know my results, as I plan to use the yellow 50 pound for flipping/pitching.
