National Health Care for Pets?

For a while I was undecided on the issue but have now been persuaded to the cause of a National Health Care Plan.

But, while the Congress and Senate are at it why not save some time and go all the way to the next step and include our family pets as well?

There is no way I can afford to have a liver transplant done for my cockatiel and all the insurance companies I've contacted have refused to cover him.

Why put off legislating today what is bound to be legislated in the future?

Why not health and happy humans and animals?
