2nd Annual 2010 Bassmaster Classic Contest - RULES

Post by ukey28 »

Well, here it is that time of year again. Time for the Bassmaster Classic and with it our Classic Contest. We had a lot of fun with this last year, and this year the winner gets a trophy, a Bassin'USA hat and a tackle pack. This year is for keeps, last year we had some people that didn't get their second picks in on time or had anglers on their lists that didn't make the cut and we kept everybody in because it was a just for fun event. But this year, since we are giving out some prizes, as humble as they might be, we are playing for keeps. The following is the Rules List. I will post the Classic Participant List on the next post to make it easier. Get your friends, girlfriends and family involved! My wife had a load of fun with this last year, as did my friends as well, some of whom never fish for bass! They randomly chose name from the participants and we were surprised at how well they did! Wendy won it last year, who's gonna win this year???!!!

The Rules

Prior to the 7:00PM Pacific Standard Time on February 17, 2010, post in order of who you think has the best chance of advancing past the cut, TEN (10) Classic participants from the Classic Participant list. They shall be posted in the manner that follows;
1) Angler X
2) Angler Y
3) Etc.
with number 1 being your favorite. The number one pick is worth 40 points to you if he advances past the cut. Number 2 is worth 38 points, Number 3 is worth 36 points down to the tenth pick being worth 20 points. After Day 2 ends, the scores will be totaled. Your score will be the sum of the point values of your surviving anglers. When you list your original picks, you will pick who you think will win the Classic. If that pick wins, you get 50 bonus points. You will also pick a loser, who you think will finish last. If you get that one right you get 25 points. These pre-tourney winner and loser picks cannot be changed.

After the cut down to 25 at the end of Day 2, you will have to trim your team to five members. If you have more than five left you will pick five that made the cut from your list to take into the last day that you think will do best. If you have less than five left you can pick anglers from places 15 through 25 in the tournament standings at the end of day 2 to fill out your five man team. This list must be submitted in the same form as on the 19th and posted before 12:00PM PST on February 20, 2010. The scoring will be at the end of the tourney, with a value of 50 points for the winner, 45 for second place and 40 for third place, 35 for fourth, and 30 for fifth. Ties get the same points for each angler. The scoring will include all points garnered for the tourney, pre cut, post cut, and bonus picks.

The contestant that finishes the tourney with the most points wins. In the event of a tie, the contestant whose pre tourney classic winner pick finishes the highest wins. If the tie still stands, the person whose loser pick finishes lower wins. The last Tiebreaker is highest total weight of the final five and the loser pick.

Have Fun and Good Luck!
Don't forget to get the wives and kids involved too!
