Red fishing line...

Is it true that this new fishing line color will prevent the fish from seeing it?

Red fishing line...

I read about the Cajun Line. They advertise it on the same idea as red hooks. Perhaps it mimics a blood trail. They definately are not touting its properties of invisibility, in fact I think the slogan goes something like...."Cajun Line, the line that fishes like a lure"....something like that.

Red fishing line...

Dennis,
It has been proven that the color red in shallow water attracts fish. The color red, according to Berkley experiments will turn gray in about eight feet of water which makes it a good choice for deeper water. Gray is a nuetral color that fish see all the time, some bait fish are gray toned, rocks are gray tints so it only makes sense that gray would be great. The Creme Lure Company is touting Floresant orange and chartreuse walleye rigs with colored line.
On a personal note, though I generally use Stren blue, I will use any color line, I don't believe that line color will actually turn on-or turn off fish. The fish get so tuned in to the baits action, color and vibration they don't react to the line all that much. Hope this helps, I would definately give it a try. Johnnie Crain

Red fishing line...

Fellas- I've fished a heck of a lot of years with Maine Guide Cap'n Chuck. He has often demonstrated the use of Yellow Stren with Smallmouth Bass.

I didn't see any appreciable difference when he use the yellow stuff than with clear line. The Smallies kept hitting his baits. This went on for probably 11 or 12 years. Always seemed like he had at least one reel loaded with yellow.

Of course, I always thought he could communicate with the bass anyhow.

Good thread. Thanks for posting. Anyone else?
