Hows it going everyone, My name is Jordan and this is my first post to the forum. I mostly fish for stripers here in the lower Colorado River but love the action of Smallmouth and Largemouth. I'm originally from Southern California fishing the stocked trout lakes for both big Stripers and big Largemouth. Currently living in Arizona now and continuing my hunt for the next big bite. Swimbait fishing is what I do 80% of the time but I'm not ever shy to throw cranks or plastics. Looking forward to everyone on this forum. Now for the stripers.
Lake Havasu has been a hard bite but I managed to stick a few schoolies and 2 nice sized Stripers. Ive decided the Savage Gear New Shine Glider in the 7 1/2 in Gizzard Shad color would be the best choice for the shad run here. With the Striper spawn just around corner these fish are stocking up fast. I was targeting main fishing docks and also boat docks that all had good lighting drawing the shad in at night and it paid off. Throwing the bigger bait kept the smaller fish away and brought me these two 8lb+ in one night. These fish were caught in January and hoping to get more soon this month!

Re: First Post and Stripers!
Hey Jordan... Nice to meet you. I'm from Long Island, so I get to do a lot of striped bass fishing in addition to chasing freshwater black bass. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. Nothing beats the hit from a striper on a swimbait... that's pretty much all I use when I go after them too. Look forward to more reports and photos. Welcome aboard!

Hello Jordan, welcome to the boards. Awesome striped bass. They put up a great fight. I'm Wendy and I'm also from Long Island. Swimbaits are my go to bait, it's what I am comfortable with, but this year I'd like to try using more hard plastics. I'm still learning a lot, but I am probably finally out of the beginner stage. I'll have to wait the winter out here, although it hasn't been that bad. Definitely like to hear more about the other coast.
