I agree with you 100% Eric. Furnace Bay Rods are soon to be the Standard in Bass fishing rods. Owner, John Uhler goes above and beyond my expectations every time we speak. Yesterday I caught my biggest bass to date, 8lbs 2 oz on a Blazer Bass Baits Ribbon Tail worm, and a 6'6" Furnace Bay Spinning rod.

I too was fortunate enough to have success while using a Furnace Bay Rod. A 7' Med Extra Fast Spinning rod really came through for me during the PA B.A.S.S. Federation Dist 2 tournament at Kueka Lake NY. two weeks ago. I placed 4th, and the better of my limit was caught using that rod while wacky rigging a 5" Senko around scattered grass and docks. A 4.8 lb Largemouth was my biggest ( missed lunker by less than an ounce!!! ) and with that rod I was able to steer that bass clear of line breaking dock posts, while at the same time the rod has just enough give that I could protect the lighter line I was using.

John Uhler is a great guy, and is very passionate about his fishing and the Furnace Bay Rods Company. Furnace Bay can only go up with a guy like John behind the wheel.

Guys, congrats on your catches and it's always good to have faith in the products we use. That could be another thread, why we love the rods we use and how much better anglers are we when using a specific brand of rod. I know a lot of guys prefer rod lengths, number of eyes, handle design, tip strength, butt strength, there's a lot more goes into rod selection than most anglers know, it also should match up well with the brand of reel being used. I once wrote an article on rod selection and it was rejected, only reject I've ever had. Guess I didn't know enough about rods, and am still learning. Good post, keep it up. Johnnie
