Whats after the rain?

You may know that I live in Central Florida, and here in the summertime, you can pretty much set your watch to the rain. My question is what is best to use after the rain? The water will be cooled so are the bass more active? Thanks for the help as usual

How are ya Cole? If the wind is non-exsistant I'd toss a top water plug, like a poppar, or hula popper. I have pretty good success using these lures. good luck

If the water is clear, the rain often will have some run off areas. This can be a good place to fish, as the bass will hold in these areas looking for food. In these places, I've used spinnerbaits and rattling crankbaits (Rat-L-Trap, Manniac, etc.). If they are a little slower, then I'll crawl a tube, or ribbon tail worm out of rocks or weeds in which the run off is coming through.

Rain does make bass more active, it not only cools and refreshes the water, it adds oxygen which really pumps a bass up. With oxygen, cooler temps and fresh water run-off the bass tend to move around more and not hold so tight to shady cover. If there are weed beds the fish will often move to the outside edge to feed. Rain also tends to knock down shad, meaning, the shad that were dimpling the surface may now be a couple of feed under. This makes for very good fishing with spinnerbaits, swimming minnow baits and shallow diving crankbaits. Swimming a grub or tube should also produce. Rain in Florida is like you said, common as dirt, so it doesn't affect Florida bass the way it does Iowa bass, but a bass is a bass no matter where it lives and they all react similarly.
