Does anyone know where I can get a head unit for a Lowrance Global Map 2000. I tried ebay and contacting the company but haven't been any help

Casey,

That's a tuff one... The only thing I could think of would be to check with a Lowrance service center (if you can find one) and see if they have a refurbished one hanging around... What happened to yours?

Brendan,
Mine started smoking one day when it was raining. It blew the fuse, I replaced the fuse but it never worked again. I talked to a dealer and they said I wouldn't be able to find anyone to fix it.

At the ABA National Championships they had the big Lowrance truck there and anyone that had a Lowrance unit that had problems would get a new one on the spot FREE. Some guys just needed new transducers but others got brand new units.

Talk about a top knotch company.

Seeing as you have the unit still, I would simply call Lowrance directly and tell them that your unit is broken. Even if it is outside of warranty... sometimes if you complain enough, they'll do the right thing just to get you off the phone...

fish, deal with lowrance direct. they have a great service department, or can direct you to a local service center. I have been lucky, never had to send one in yet, knock on wood. I know guys who have, and the service was great. Lowrance either replaced or repaired unit, depending on damage. If under waranty, you should have no problem. If not, they will repair for reasonable fee. And like Brendan said, if you complain just right, can usually get it fixed. Last thing they want is for you to go and buy a Garmin. Good luck

Casey,

What did you end up figuring out on this deal? I am looking for a new case for my Lowrance 2000. I dropped mine and the outer case cracked big time... big crack you can see through right across the screen, it still works but I expect it won't the first time it gets wet. I'm looking for parts or one to part out. Lowrance is a dead end, they say there are no parts available.
