what are some of the ways i can find out what the water level is doing on a certin body of water before i get there.can i call somewhere to find out if its rising or falling or will i just have to wait until i get there?

Some lakes have a water authority that controls the lake levels, contacting them would be beneficial. IF a lake has a water authority the local conservation office would know the number. Also, the conservation office may know the current lake levels and if they are rising or falling, however it is usually information that is a few days old and may not be accurate. Contacting the local tackle shop may help too. The best determinate of water level is being there in person. Look where the water level is by the ramp and come back to that spot an hour later and see if the water has risen or fallen as that is the most accurate. Hope this helps.
