Different Types of Rattles

Post by Eriebronze »

Since I fish a lot on Lake Erie, and its usually clear, despite what others may tell you ,lol, we usually don't use rattles. Those hungery bronzebacks can see and chase down anything you care to show them. However, in the bay areas and after nasty storms, which tend to churn the water a bit, I use a rather unorthodox rattle for tubes. Simply put, it's a craft bell I get at the local wal-mart. 10mm size. The tie on loop of the bell fits nicely over my 4/0 mustad jig hooks and slides up into the tube just perfect. The plastic keeps the bell from moving and ringing. Instead it creates a crawdad like click. Awesome for stained water. This also works well on the "other" bass we have. I think they are green lol. Tight lines...come on spring!!!!!
