Luke, around here, we don't get too serious until late March and early April, the waters just too cold. I really like any period 3 days prior to and after a full moon. That's always a good week. We have to go more by water temperature than month. Sadly our water temps are still in the high 30's. Johnnie

Down here in the south we fish year round but may I suggest moon phases. Your major & minor periods 1 1/2 hours before and after the rise and set of the moon. Oh yea this is also your tidal movements.

Down here in Southern Il. the water temps have reached 50 to 55 degrees. Definitely prespawn. fish are scattered with some moving to the flats. My bass club fished yesterday and brought about a dozen 4 lbs'ers in. Spinnerbaits did the trick.

I'm from Long Island and I fish year round... ever if it means that I have to drill through the ice or wade into a stream to wet my line...

It's never the wrong time to go fishing, you just need to be aware of the how the weather impacts the behavior of bass.
