potomac river
Grass,Grass,Grass check your maps and locate a few of the main river shallow bays. Some of them will be full of grass this time of year. If you want to make the run north take a look at Smoot Bay south try Wades Bay and other similar. Most of your boat traffic is going to be north. Early morning check your main river points for a topwater bite. Spinnerbaits and small plastics in the grass work well. If the weather is bad you can join the rest of the crowd up inside of Mattawomen Creek right there at Smallwood. You have to contend with 6 mile an hour Zones. If you elect to go all the way to the back you almost need to commit yourself if you are fishing a tournament. This creek get's alot of pressure but there are always fish to be caught in there. These are just a few of the endless possibilities on the Potomac. Good luck!
