Still looking for help

Post by Always Fishing »

Not trying to be snippy or anything, but I'm still looking for info on Rend Lake. Someone on the Pro Staff here must know a few things about this lake.

Thanks,

I have been to Rend lake one time. It was for a tournament that had nearly 200 boats. If my memory serves me right 23 weighed fish. It wasn't a very good time.

I had one bite the whole tournament and it was about a 13"-14" bass that shook off at the boat.

Other than that I have no real valuable information for you about Rend.

Maybe somebody else has something a little more helpful.

Always Fishing,
I am looking for my Rend Lake map, I should be able to give you some inofrmation soon, Be patient. It's a fairly large lake by our standards, mostly shallow and can become quite dirty after speing rains. The South and West ends are standing timber in ten to twenty feet of water, lots of brush. The dam area can be good, cleaner water and some rocks provide good cover. There is a cove right against the dam that holds fish. One great technique not often used works very well there, bulging a spinnerbait. A large single-colorado blade fished right across the surface making a wake. Most of the lake is runable, but use caution and boat lanes in the upper reaches of the lake. Pitchin and flippin large size balck and blue jig and pigs and soft plastics right against the tree trunks works well in the dingier timbered areas. Will get back to you with more later. Johnnie.
