Thats a good tip carl. How did you ever think of that? Does it draw more strikes than it usually would?

I love tube fishing, especially this time of year.
I really only rely on two rigs:
1- the standard slip in tube head in 1/16oz or 1/8oz is perfect for me
2- I Texas rig most of my tubes with a 3/0 EWG hook, sliding brass bullet weight painted black and a black glass bead....always! It is a good system.

I usually only use an Odham's Weedless tube head. You run the weedgard through first, then the hook eye.

Another tip for added flotation is to put an earplug in the tube. When rigged only with an EWG 3/0 hook it makes a great topwater lure.

i'm not a pro-staffer but i'l give you a tip that i used for the tube with a jig head. it saves me from retieing the line if the tube is shot. i take the jig head and push the hook through the tube and tread it down the body till the hook comes out the bottom and then push the head in the tube. that's it. the tube doesen't get messed up and i have caught several fish on one tube this way all the time. it is a time saver.
