Sandy,
There are different ways to rig a rattling tube. One of the easiest is with a new sinker that has a built-in rattle.
This sinker goes inside the tube, and the hook (I use an XGap style) is Texas rigged, with the point of the hook passing through a slot in the sinker. The offset area of the hook ends up in this slot, thus holding in the sinker. You are taking care of two things at once with this rig (sinker and rattle).
Another way is to use a Copperhead style hook, which has a spring style fastener that screws into the tube's head. Then the rattle is fastened to the hooks shank. For this us use one with some sort of shrink tube, usually with a glass rattle, such as the P&P rattle.
Hope this helps.
Best of fishing,
Dan
