luck craft pointer 95 sp

I just bought a lucky craft live pointer 95 sp for $18.00. The lure really caught my eye, the color is called ghost minnow. I noticed that the package features an ICAST best of show decal. So I guess I'm not the only one who was impressed, the flexible tail section is great. Lure detail is top shelf for sure. My main question for you is: Have you ever fished it? How deep will it dive? And tips on presentation?

Butch,

Both my cousin and I purchased the 95 sp each in a different color and fished them side by side during practice for a tournament early this year. Neither of us were too impressed. The bait dives about 3' and suspends with the tail in the down position. (The bait actually rests in a vertical position, not horizontal like most jerkbaits) After trying several different retrieve styles and giving the lure some time to produce a fish, I decided to pick up the standard pointer 100 in the same color. After unhooking my third keeper bass, my cousin decided to put his 95sp back in the package and also tie on a pointer 100.

Water temps ranged from 53-58 degrees that day and fish were actively chasing down jerkbaits... just not the 95 sp.

I think the most attractive part of a suspending jerkbait is that when you stop, it does NOT MOVE! With this bait (95sp) when you stop, the bait has to settle into the vertical position.

Perhaps some other people have had better success with the bait... any one else have some feedback on this one?

I have also bought one, and i to do not like it as well as the pointer 100. The pointer 100 is a awsome bait and realy catches a lot of fish. Its a real expensive bait for not catching to much..... good luck on the water..

Brendan: Used this bait last night during pre-tourney practice. I caught a ton of small bass and two northerns even a small perch as well. It seems that my bait does attract some attention but at this point the wrong size and those darn toothy critters. I would hate to loose an $18 bait to a northern. I have not given up, but must say this looks to be only a clear water bait. If I do any better with it I'll post at a later date.
