pond fishing
I have been fishing in some small ponds in my area. I read an article in bassin, it said you have a better chance of catching a big fish there than in the big lakes you fish.. I knew that because fish are so confined you always have your bait in there face... I must say in the last week I have caught 5 fish over 5LBS and 1 over 6lbs.. I lie to you not!! It has been a thrill try it out you will be surprised....

I agree! I got spoiled fishing a small 6 acre lake. Caught my largest fish on that lake, now I fish the big bodies of water and never have had the excitement of that small lake. Good luck guys, Carl

my dads friend has a pond and the bass are huge im good at a catching all sorts of fish but im just now learning how to catch bass
long story short
(i stink win it comes to bass)
but at that pond all i did was trough a spinner out and reeled in and they were hitting it like a no tomorrow. so i think they see it better in small waters(what do you guys think?) null

Guys, I like to use ponds to field test new products, just to see how the bass react to different presentations. I try not to get too involved in pond fishing because as a tournament angler, we don't fish ponds. It is a good way to hone certain skills though and catching lots of fish is always a confidence booster. Have fun, that's what it's all about. Johnnie

Several years back my grandfather took me to one of his friend's farm ponds. It was in the middle of a cornfield with just Weeping Willows surrounding it. The pond had not been fished in over 15-20 years!
We threw in a couple of topwater Jitterbugs and caught fish on every cast! The biggest being about 6lbs. Small ponds are fun and in my opinion provide more opportunity to locate and catch the big ones!

No doubt that smaller waters can produce big fish. This type of fishing has become my specialty and I'll honestly tell you that I've caught literally tons of bass over 5lbs from them. While guys in my area drive 100 miles to launch their big boats, I go ten minutes from my house and do at least just as well if not better.
