Help Wanted on Walleye

Post by msivey »

I fish a local lake here in TN. Tims Ford Lake. It is a deep impound off the Elk River where it was backed up and flooded several thousand acres of steep foot hills of the Cumberland mountains. This lake has a good population of walleye, and I know nothing about how to locate them. I have caught a few, strictly by chance, while fishing for Smallmouth. I release all my bass but would like to put a few walleye in the freezer and on the table. Like I said I know exactly nothing about fishing for them, so any help, suggestions on where to start looking and what type rig to use would help a lot.

keep after um

Mike,

The Linder brothers (The guys from InFisherman Magazine)are really great at explaining the fundmentals and advance tactics for Walleye fishing. Here are some links that might help get you started:
http://www.walleyehunter.com/ (Articles and Message boards)
http://www.in-fisherman.com/ (Lots of video which you can purchase as well as other info)
