Rigging TOADS ?

I recently bought some of those new toads , but i'm not sure how to rig or fish them . i'm open for idea's

Bobby, am unaware of what toads are, got a photo? Are they just soft rubber frogs? Need more info. Johnnie

Johnnie -- what I guess I need to know is this : do I T/R with a weight or T/R them weightless ? Alot of people here in NC are using them and I want to give them a try before I go to Lake Gaston in July . Any tips from any of the PRO STAFF would be a big help . Thanks

Who makes these "toads?" I looked on the internet and couldn't find anything? A little info. might go a long way :rolleyes: Get my drift. C

Bobby- Run a 5/0 worm hook into the head of the Horny Toad to just past the center of the bait, bring the hook out so it rides facing up. The dimpled side of the Toad should be down. Fish this bait without any weight. The frog and hook will cast well without weight. The bait is solely designed to be used on the surface. Use it in lily pads, weed beds, grass or matted duck weed.Swim the bait slowly, the kicker legs do the work.

Ditto what Johnnie said, I fished some today and the bigger hook is a must as the rubber is pretty thick and needs room to move if you want a solid hook set. I missed a few because the bait wouldnt move enough.

Just to add to the above, I used the Yum Buzz Frog to take third in a tourney on Wednesday...I think I really like them now...LOL

dont overlook trying a horny toad on a carolina rig, it works very well. I do agree with Johnnie, it works great as a topwater though.
