fishing behind someone?

ok, here's the deal, i fish off of the back of the boat and i want to beat my partner next time were on the water, he moves pretty fast so i dont get to fish as slow as i want. i am always willing to fish fast, but it dont always work, so when fishing behind someone, how can i show em' who's the best???

I think your priorities may be a little off base, but when I'm stuck in the back, I'll always use crankbaits, even in shallow water. I'll make more casts faster, thus giving myself more opportunites to catch fish. Burning a spinnerbait is another good bet and if thgat fails try swimming a jig and twister tail at medium speed.
