Im wondering how you fish the wind? How do u fish muddy banks that have been pounded by wind enduced waves. Dou you think that the wind makes bass go deep or shallow? Do u use a drift sock wile fishing the wind? I was also wondering if u use FETCH in consideration when planning for a windy day.
Fetch is a nautical term meaning the distance over which wind-driven waves travel without encountering obstruction.

The Wind
Abner, I have always done good on wind muddied banks tossing a rubber worm or crawfish lure almost on shore and puling it out like trying to escape the beating of the mini " surf " against the shore. A split shot weight just to keep the head down and let it drift a little towards the shore and pull it back. It drives them mad, I like the purple worms with pink curly tails for this as they show up in the mud. I first tried this as a kid with real nightcrawlers as I seen some worms fall with a clump of earth into the water and get attacked like crazy as they washed out of the rich ohio soil.

My first artificial lure was a Flatfish orange with black dots, found it on a branch at 10 years old, still ice on the banks. I fell in getting it,real wood lure, tied it on and watched as it shimmied back, two feet from shore a 4lb 2oz hawg swallowed it, and I have been hooked ever since.

Abner, I try to find the zone where the mud line and cleaner water mixes. I then throw a crankbait parallel to the mud line. Bass love to hide just inside the mudline and run out and catch passing prey. The bass can see out, but the prey can't see in. Won some tournaments doing this.
I always welcome wind unless it Hurricane force. I fish into the wind and and quarter the boat into it. Fishing into the wind slows the boat speed so I can fish slower. I always assume the fish are facing the wind too, but can't really be sure how far down the wind affects the water movement. I will throw heavier baits in the wind to avoid backlashes and I think the bigger bass are more active during windy conditions. No place to use drift socks here, only have the Mississippi river and small lakes to fish. Johnnie
