I was out once again today on my favorite lake. I can find enough fish to feed NYC, but get them to bite...I prerigged my rods using every suggestion on the boards. Zip. I caught 2 six inchers on a chartruse curly tail/drop shot. These fish are stacked on drop offs about 30 feet from shore, depending on the depth. Thick as thieves. The water is still 42. Someone give me the maject bullet. PS. When I arrived at the ramp there was only one spot left, all these guys were prefishing for a tourney. When I got back in everyone was gone, maybe I wasn't the only one.

Carl, without any hesitation I recommend a Hopkin's 45 jigging spoon, plain silver 1/2 ounce. Get right on top of those fish and jig the spoon up and down on the bottom, maybe in six inch jerks and you will get some fish. Of course, any name spoon will work, I just like the 45 or Shorty. When fish are tightly schooled a jigging spoon is the way to go especially on off-shore humps. Johnnie

Thanks Johnnie, the barometer has been going nuts, up and down, fast up and downs. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
