Stump the staff?????

Hello , I just joined this site today , April 29th 2006. Wondering if any of you can help me out. I've fished alot of lakes in the southwest michigan area but only closer to me and most of the time a rental boat was needed as i didn't own my own. Well, NOW I DO , i purchased a boat from a family member that is ready for the water of a good lake in southwest MI. I am lookin for good smallmouth lake in MI. I've always fished Large that are common and good sized at some lakes I've found but now i want to get into some smallies. I'd travel a little ways if I knew there was going to be a good chance of landing some, I just don't wanna set out blind not knowing anything about a lake or river. Let me know if any of you have ever found such a body of water close to me. Thanks JustCauz Battle Creek , MI

Justcuaz, just type in Michigan smallmouth lakes on any search engine. There are hundreds and even plenty with printable maps. Cisco, Duck, Clam, Thayer, Bellaire all look good. Good luck and enjoy those brown bass. Johnnie
