Light casting rod

Post by hawg hunter »

Hello fellas I'm looking for a lightweight casting rod to throw weightless senkos, flukes, and other light baits with 6-8lb test line. I'm leaning towards the Diawa Pixy baitcasting reel for this setup unless anyone knows of anything better. I realize most people us a spinning setup for this but I absolutely despise spinning tackle unless its really wind. I guess I'm just used to the baitcaster. Anyway if anyone knows of such a rod let me know! Thanks for the help.

I have purchased two Bass Pro Shops Extreme lite series baitcasters and think they work well for finese and light weight baits. The rod is short for some, but I have been able to use it well around docks and shallow throwing small baits.

I would have to agree on the BPS Extreem Light I bought one for the wife with her small hands and went fishing the other day and used it myself,,, Man I may have to go get me one now. Love that little reel. ITs small and light weight I could use that thing for days and not get tired..
Thanks,

Thanks for the input fellas. I wouldn't mind trying the extreme lite, however I cannot use a right handed reel. Feel like a baby trying to walk for the first time. Its pathetic nobody wants to see that!!! Anyone else have any ideas.
