Good Lord my friend, we need a little more info. The kind of lake, depth, clarity, water tempts, forage, and structure. The more info., the more we can help. Carl

Carl is right on-need info. For now, I'd tie on a four inch plastci worm in purple with an 8th ounce slip sinker and have her cast to anything and everything. I can't think of any possible scenerio where this bait won't work eventually. Good luck and send more info for better replies. Johnnie

Tie on a Crappie Jig under a float, work it around cover. When things get really bad and I need that one fish its a go to presentation. May not sound like much and it will get some strange looks but it does catch fish.
White ones work great, right along with black with a chart tail.
Man cant believe I let that cat out of the bag.
Clunn has his Crappie cranks and I have the Crappie Jig.

SOORY FELLA'S WE ARE FISHIN AT SPRAT LAKE
A RECENTLY PRIVATE LAKE TURNED PUBLIC
CLARITY IS TREMENDOUS AND THERE IS A TON OF
FOLIAGE REACHING OUT TO ABOUT 5 TO 6 FEET
IN DEPTH THE ARE THREE DOCKS COVERED IN FOLIAGE I HAVE FOUND UNDER THE DOCKS IS WHERE I HAVE HAD THE BEST LUCK AND
SOMETIMES WHEN I BRING IN A FISH HE IS
COVERED IN WEEDS NOW THE HEAT IS BREAKING THE 90'S I HAVE BROUGHT MORE FISH IN ON A
4" WATERMELON KASUMI TEXAS RIG
I GUESS THE REAL QUESTION IS
CAN YOU TELL ME THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
HOW SHE COULD BE JIGGIN OR ANY POINTERS
ON HOW SHE SHOULD BRING THE WORM BACK TO SHORE

OK super clear water with alot of grass. I think you mean overhanging trees when you say folige or I hope thats what you mean.
I would fish any shade you can find really really well. Those fish should be hanging in the shade or under the overhanging trees and under the docks, or just barried up in the weeds. Either way you need to get the worm to them. You need something that will punch through the underwater grass and get down to were they are to escape the heat. As far as working the worm I would just do the lift and drop, lift and drop. IF you are fishing from the bank its going to be hard to work that worm through the grass. Work the worm slow and then slower. IF that dont do it work it alot faster.
Try a rattle trap worked across the grass if it is not matted on the surface. ITs easy to work and it catches alot of fish.

KEEP HER AWAY FROM TREBLE HOOKS unless you are willing to remove them from your inexperienced angler/wife!
Show her how to texas-rig a 4 inch Senko and tell her to toss it out into or next to any underwater vegitation. then hand her one of her favotite home-made cookies. She instantly slows down and lets the lure catch the fish.
I also like Conely's idea of the float & jig.
If you really want to get her hooked go river/stream fishing for smallmouth bass. Don't worry about size, just get her catching fish.
