Which brand of spinning reel do you prefer out of Quantum / Daiwa / Shimano? Or do you prefer something else over these three?

Shimano all the way with me. They are great reels and very smooth. Never had a problem with them.
My spinning reels are Sedonas and I have several baitcasters that are the Curados and Citicas. Love the Curados.

I like Mitchell and Shimano, both quality reels. Good luck with your selection. Johnnie

Go with the shimano if it were me. But I have to say that the Mitchel is slowing becoming my favorite

Daiwa hands down is the one for me. Model: tournament 1300SS. Started using them 15 years ago and still buy them today.

I have two Simano Strsdic reels, they are just great. One thing I have noticed over time is that some guys will spend and buy some nice, top of the line baitcasters, then buy bargin bin spinning reels. Whats up with that? That's like buying a new bass boat and pulling it with a sub-compact.

RW-LOL sad to say, but you're right! Spinning reels often take a back seat for some anglers, but I rely on them for specific situations and demand a quality reel and rod. I do all my pitchin' and flippin' with spinning reels.

Yeah I work in a retail store that handles diawa shimano plueger and quantum. I personnally am a Quantum guy I think they're inovative and well built, but alas I have to admit that the diawa exceller for only 59.99 is the smoothest reel I've ever felt. No offense to the shimano guys, but it kicks the crap out of all the shimano reels (although the stradic is close but 2 to 3 times the price) in how smooth it reels. Haven't heard anything either way on longevity or dependability yet so let me know what you think.

Hey all,I use the Quantum brand reels.Been using these for nearly 8 years now,and never had a problem. For some reason,I like the way it handles, when a hawg comes out to play. For now,I'll stick with this brand.I also have a few shimano reels, and like them too,but I always go back to Quantum. Bassman

Kingfisher, Quantum all the way.. I have all of there spinning reels, these guys can handle 250 days a year of client abuse and punshment and still working strong. There new Catalyst PTI series with 8 BB are very strong buy for around 99.00 and there high end reel with 11 BB for only 149.00. Take it from someone who uses these guys everyday they are worth every pennie!!
