Any New Super-Baits

Post by johnnie crain outdoors »

Have any of you found a new or improved bait this past year that was super good? Chatterbait-Etc. Just curious.
The best bait I used this year was the V&M Eel in junebug color. That thing caught me a lot of nice fish and helped me gain more confidence in worm type baits. It has a very wide flat tail-well-like an eel I guess. Very productive bait.

Johnnie, I best I have found are the new Berkley Glup straight worms in Natural Nightcrawler color. These thing are unreal for drop shotting. Spots just eat them up.

I'm sure after I get back from all the sport shows I'm doing this year I will get to see alot of new things coming out on the market.. It's really neat to see all of the baits from all over the US. I will let you guys know what I find.

Don, you're right, I have tried them too and they are very good, very lifelike. Caught a five pounder the first cast with one, and a lot more smaller ones. I throw them right into the rocks. Johnnie

I've been pouring a super fat senko that is 3X the diameter of a regular 5" bait. It has been great so far.

Craig, that sounds like a good idea. Big old fat worm for a big old fat bass. Johnnie

The Fish-N-Fool Lures Deadstick-N-Fools and Sink-N-Fool baits are turning some heads. Many anglers have got the biggest fish of their life on them like Tony with this 12 lb monster he got on a bleeding Pearl Shad. Like the ones at the bottom of the post.

It imitates I dieing minnow that looks like it is struggling to swim as the bait free falls. This bait has also caught everything from Muskies to Bonefish, and Bass to a 52" Mahi Mahi.

The best baits that I have found this past year and used and even caught some fish were a spinnerbait from Secert Weapon Lures and the Beaver Craws from Allurning Baits. can find them at www.secertweaponlures.com www.allurningbaits.com
check them out. the spinnerbaits have inline blades that are quick connect.

As far as soft baits this year, the most impressive are the Tube X by vertical lures and the skip n pop by JDC Baits. The tube isn't your ordinary tube, it is like a big senko with 4 flaps like a couple of jig trailers. Talk about awesome. I have used it as a texas rig, carolina rig and flipping thick grass. The skip n pop is a pop-r that is soft plastic. Many applications for that. I can't leave out the Jig X either, that is my all-time favorite bait.

Hey Craig, you never got back to me about a pro staff position?
Good products guys andf a good bass photo.
I also like the 8" Mann's Dragon Worm, the beaver tail really flops around. I use the crawfish/brown/orange color with great success. Johnnie
