Hey Conley, Well I went to the Indy boat show but there was not a both from the Lowrance company. I spoke to some of the show management and they said that the show has not been well represented by these type of companies recently. I guess that I will be looking around to see if anyone in the area has and is familar with the i-finder unit I am looking at.
How is your work wiht your unit going, did you buy the map-create for the unit?
Hope you have a great year, I love hearing about the couples tournaments with your wife. I hope to gain some more experiance and find some local couples events in the future for us.

hand held GPS
I went to BPS Spring Fling this weekend at Grapevine and talked some to the Lowance rep there. He told me to go the Lowance web site and down load some of the free maps on my card for some of the lakes that I fish and see if I liked them and make my desion from there. NOw that impressed me. He could have told me to buy the chip and see if I like it but he didnt.
So now I have some of the lakes down loaded and went to the lake and tried it on my home lake. Its great! It worked like a charm. Showed all the topo lines and all. I can take that info and info from my paper maps and find all these little spots that I want to fish and go there with no problems. Of course not all maps or gps maps match up perfectly to what is actually in the water but it will get you really close. I can still save the waypoints and all and down load it in the computer and all just like before.
Of course some of the lakes that I fish are not on the free maps but hey they are free! I guess I'll just by the chip that has those lakes on it. It be nice to have the Map create but if all the lakes I want is on the chip I dont see any reason to buy the MapCreate software after all.
I think the new chip is $99 which I think is cheaper than Map Create.
Still playing with it and will keep you updated.
