Salting hand poured baits

What, and when is the best way to salt your hand poured baits. I just started to pour my own baits, and although I love my floaters, I heard if you add salt they sink. Plus the bass just hold on longer when salted. I would appreciate any other tips as well. Thanks Jeremy

Add the salt right before you make the pour into the molds and keep it mixed up really good because it will settle on the bottom.

Does it matter what type of salt you use? Can you use like kitchen salt?

That is what I started out with was the kitchen salt. Then I read on another site about popcorn salt. I believe it is finer salt and works better. Here is a site you can check out that will tell all you need to know about pour worms or making crankbaits. http://tackleunderground.com/

That should give you plenty of answers. Some good reading there and some great folks to talk with.
Thanks,

Thanks a lot guys. I'm enjoy making my own baits a lot and hopefully the bass will enjoy them too.
