trolling motor retention

Post by bassin butch »

FYI to all: I had the trolling motor well nuts pull out of the hull. I nearly lost my motor in the lake, i called a local boat dealership and they said it's not that uncommon with well nuts. They told me they never use them but use a special toggle bolt instead. Well I bought 4 of them and they are great. Don't take a chance buy some yourself! Check them out at www.toggler.com

Butch: I assume that the toggle bolts you used were like "mollys". They definitely will hold up while well nuts pull free.

I no longer have a glass boat, but if I was buying one, it would have to have toggles.

Thanks for the heads-up. JoeMo
