Keeping the line clean
How can you clean the line clean on the reel? Mine gets so dirty. Can it get ruined if it's not cleaned?

Use reel magic, Wal Mart has it. Spray it down, maybe get out in the yard and let out line, and wipe it with a saturated cloth.

when you say dirty, do you mean from reel laying in dirt cause of shore fishing or weeds and stuff getting in there from the water when you reel in your line?
as boat has said reel magic is good. also after your trip you could rinse with clean water.
but i would say after a few trips you should change your line. cause if it's getting dirty, then the line has been damaged. so by respooling you will have fresh line and don't have to worry about losing the "BIG" one!

DAS, I totally agree with boats. Reel Magic works. And NO that Question was not dumb...sometimes it just takes a day or two for some people to answer some questions on here. As Ray stated do change your line often. Having new fresh line can dictate landing the biggest bass of your life or losing it.

dumb. I agree and so would anyone else. When your line looks bad, it needs cleaning.
My friend Wally uses that green cleaner that won't pollute the water. His line always sparkles. lol
Boats, Ray C.& Hyperdub- Excellent posts. Keep it up. We appreciate it.

My line gets dirty from the weeds from shore fishing. I'll try some reel magic and if that doesn't work I'll just change out the line. Thanks guys.
