the best to all of you. Be careful driving in. I hear the first left turn past the tracks is too nasty to negotiate. You might make it, but suppose the guy in front of you doesn't?
While all this is going on, I will leisurely drive to a certain big lake and become a Fed Ass't Weighmaster for the day. I'll let you know how many limits of bass are caught.

Thanks Joe! I will certainly take your advice on the tough turns, and "WE" will let you know how many 5+ pounders come to the L.I.B. scale! Take care and good luck! ED

JOE M..........I promissed that I would keep you in tune with our Hither Hills "adventure" so here it goes..... The railroad tracks have been improved, but the road is still rough in spots. I don't have actual numbers yet, but a lot of fish were caught! You will be surprized to know that the Lunker for the day was only 5-6, caught by Mr. Brian Davis who made a surprize appearance! A whole bunch of big ones were lost throughout the day! Legend has it that Emory Jr. lost the "monster" of the lake, Bruce P. lost a good one also, and Ray C. and myself both lost big ones only moments before our final weigh in! The fish were all deep since the water level has dropped considerably! When I do get the totals I will post them! There are a lot of bass with sore mouths at Hither Hills today!

Sounds as if there will be some fish stories circulating on LI for the next week or so.
That's great! JoeM

hey JOE, I got one for you. i was fishing with rob herbst, i was a great partner. when i was waiting to net his fish we both thought to be the BIG one, my jig was out in front of us about 10yrds. suddenly i feel the rod tug and the fish was on my line. he kept munching the jig. and what did i do, i helped rob net a 2lb bass. when i gave him the net i went to set the hook, the line was behind the boat at this time. so i reeled up line and set it. the rod bent like it never had before and 5 seconds later it was gone!! we will never know will we.!? that was in the first half. i love fishing. don't get me started with the one i lost with less then 5 min. to go, to the left of the lanch area.

Ray- So, that's what you got for being a good guy. That's "the stuff that dreams are made of" Ouch! I'll bet you've 2nd guessed yourself a zillion times since that day, right?
I'm sure Bob felt bad about what happened. We fished together at Blydenburgh. We had a ball. And I've fished with you also. Both of you are good boat partners. Thanks for sharing. We all feel your pain. JoeM
