I need a good sensitive flippin stick. I bought a Bass Pro Tourney Xtreme, but I cant seem to feel the light bites on a jig like I should. Is GLoomis my only option? They seem very expensive to me. I just want a decent rod that I can feel more bites with.
Thanks in advance!

Flippin Sticks?
Scott,
St. Croix makes some nice rods in their Premier series and Avid series. If you are looking for a 7' one piece "Heavy Power" fast action rod, I would look at the Avid series first. The Premier 7' Heavy Power (Model PC70HF) is fast action is a broom stick. There is almost no give at the tip end of the rod. The Avid series 7' Heavy Power, fast action (Model AC70HF) seems to be a bit more versatile rod.
The Premier series Medium-Heavy (Model PC70MHF)power is a nice rod, but the tip is a little to soft for flippin' & pitchin'.
Here are some specs for there different rods:

Flippin Sticks?
I use Pflueger Trion Flippin' Sticks. They are 7'6" long and in my opinion are "excellent rods." There isn't anything that I can think of to say negative about these rods.
The best part is the price, you won't have to take out a loan to get one. These are the same rods that Pros like Davy Hite and Tim Horton use.

Flippin Sticks?
Let me recommend the Kistler Helium LTA. This is the lightest rod on the market and has many custom features such a no foregrip, Zirconia guides and a unique hook hanger. I switched all of my rods over to this brand and they are the best I've ever used.

Flippin Sticks?
Just to let you all know, I settled on the Falcon Cara MH 6'-10" rod. They were running an internet special on them.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
