fishing tidial rivers
I've recently became a member and was wondering if there was any advice on fishing rivers. The local club I joined fishes mostly rivers. Such as --Pamlico-- Roanoke--- Trent/Neuse. Is it best to fish incoming or outgoing tides ?

Bobby,
Tidal rivers can be a bit difficult adjusting to. The hot tide on most rivers is the first hour before and after high tide. Some guys choose to run that peek tide up or down the river, while other prefer to scout an area that has the ability to hold fish through all phases of the tide. At this point, you are just adjusting where you are fishing in that area.
I would also recommend emailing Tim Carini (NY - ProStaff) [email protected]
He spends a lot of time fishing tidal rivers and could give you some more insight.
Good Luck with the new club...
