White Jig Question
Ok fellow staffers here is one for you.We all heard about the so called white jig secret, now how many of you throw it,how often do you throw it and how much success do you have??? Everytime I use it I find little luck with it. Although I know some guy's who swear by it.Im sure sooner or later it will pay off it just seems like it will be later than sooner. Thanks for any input on this one!!

White Jig Question
Scott,
I think the white jig is an awesome bait, in certain conditions. It depends on water clarity.

White Jig Question
I have used white jigs with great success over the last couple years, but only on a few waters.
I fish them much like a spinnerbait, swimming the jig instead of the lift and drop technique so popular with conventional jig fishing.
Normaly using 3/8 oz jigs I like a Zipper Zip Zit for a trailer, it is a tube like bait and has been by far my best producer for white or baitfish colored jigs.
I like to use them in place of a spinnerbait in some waters where fishing pressure is high.Summer has been my best season with fall a close second, shad or other light colored bait must be present in the body of water for this to be productive. They are deadly fished through fallen timber bumping cover and then letting it fall, just like a spinnerbait.

White Jig Question
Scott, The white jig is not an every day bait for me, but it is a "go to" bait under the following conditions. In dirty water the white jig can be and often is the bait of choice. When the water has been stained for several days I will use this color jig and I also like to swim it slowly along the bottom. I believe that when the water has been stained for any length of time, that all the bait fish and even gamefish change color to an off-white. In order for fish to have color they must have some sunlight or they will lose much of their pigmentation. Ever put a bass in a light colored live well and see it lose it's distinctivce coloration? Ever caught a mid-winter bass from extremely deep water? Almost white. I also prefer a white bucktail jig, lots more breathing action at slow speeds and I use a No.1 Uncle Josh (green/white) pork frog inverted. I want the white color on top. Swimming the bait along the bottom the bass will only see the side or the top of the bait. Don't give up on this bait, find some dirty water and go to work. Johnnie Crain Iowa Pro Staff.

White Jig Question
Scott, I have been using white for a few years now, but I use it when I think the Bass have seen every thing in black and blue. I have used it at night as a drop and swim bait in pressured water but my white is more of a Bone/with orange clor or as a friend of mine said it looks like flesh (off white) it is good in dirty water and under bright conditions.
