Johnnie,
When bass fishing I generally carry 10 rigs, 6 spinning including a drop shot rig and 4 casting. I'm a bit of a junk fisherman. I enjoy trying all types of baits and techniques in multiple situations.
I recently bought two fly fishing rigs (one for me, one for the wife) as I want to fly fish for smallmouth.

Johnnie,
Usually I have six or seven. The give or take is if I'm thinking of fishing the large swimbaits or not. My swimbait setup is spooled with 20 lb. line and I have one rod with a baitcaster dedicated to that only.
So when I take out the seven rods it's two baitcasters and five spinning setups for me.
I do a lot of dropshot and worm fishing and I prefer the spinning gear for that.
This is the way I am usually set up with seven.
1. 7'6" Heavy action with 20 lb. line and baitcaster for swimbaits.
2. 7' Medium Heavy action rod with baitcaster spooled with 6 lb., 8 lb., or 10 lb. flourocarbon for Ika and Senkos.
3 and 4. Two 6'6" Medium action rods with spinning reels spooled with 8 lb. P-line mono for Carolina rigs and swimming jigs and other hardbaits.
5. 6'6" Medium light action rod with spinning reel spooled with 4 lb. mono or 5 lb. flourocarbon for dropshots.
6. 6' Medium action rod with spinning reel spooled with 6 lb. flourocarbon for dropshots.
7. And one Ole Faithful, the first one I ever bought, 5'6" Medium action rod with spinning reel spooled with 4 lb. mono that I have as a backup for my 6'6" dropshot rod and also to fish for trout with inline spinners, spoons, and Kastmasters should the bass not be biting and the rainbow trout are the hot ticket.
I'm like 95% a bass guy but I do switch hit on the rainbow trout sometimes.
Good fishing to you guys, later................... geobass

Geobass, thanks for the responce. It's always okay to fish for other species, I still get a thrill out of watching a bobber go under and guessing what's got it. I keep a couple of spin cast rods and reels for that- 8 # line-light rod. Fun!! Johnnie

Bass Fishing; Tourney.
4 to 6 Baitcasters, always one Flippin Stick rigged, counted as baitcaster.
Two spins, one for skipping baits under low cover, the other rigged 'light' 8 to 10 Lb test, with a spare spool of 6.
Just fishin';
One to three baitcasters, two spins, and at the right time of year... One 9'6" #8 fly rod with an aprpriate fly/bug/popper tied on. And to be honest, there have been a number of times I could have won a number of tourneys with that long rod if I was allowed to use it.
I don't even own a Spincast reel.
Richard.

Johnnie, as I guide I carry 4 Bait casters and 5 spinning rods, 2 spin cast for clients in the boat and have about a dozen more of all ready in the truck for backup.

Capt. Don, I too often carry a couple of spincasts for beginning anglers. It's justy so much easier for them and me when we're fishing. I even use them on ocassion for panfishing with the Grandson. Johnnie
