Slider Fishing

Craig- Slidering is a great way to catch fish on slow days. (not bad on fast days, either) And you can mix and match the Slider grubs and worms and anyone else's worms also.

Rob- I hope you have a good idea now about what Sliders are and how (well) they fish. You can get on one of the search engines like www.google.com and type in Charlie Brewer Slider lures. Almost like going to a bass library. (not quite)

Hello again! When I first saw Slider Fishing I asked myself ; "what is that ? " I have read all the responces and now I think I know what it is , thanks to Johnny Crains descreption-( it painted a pretty clear pitcure). I'm going to try it next weekend. As a non-boater all I can say is - " You all help me alot "

Rob, good luck slider fishing and don't give up if you don't catch on right away. One thing I forgot to mention, do not set the hook like with a jig or worm, a little wrist snap will do, the fine wire hooks used in slider fishing usually do the job, before you even detect the strike. again, good luck and let us know how it's going. Joe, what color sliders do you prefer for uhh......ummm....slidering? Do you employ the grub at all. I've tried it before and did well with it at Maho. John G has a faithful following that use it there quite often.

Craig- It is funny, but I started to use the "Brewer's Grub" after Doctor Bass used it to good advantage in my lake in CT.

What I liked about it mostly was that even when it wasn't catching bass, seemed like every species in the lake was getting in line for their chance at the grub.

But the little flat tail/straight tail worm is really all you need most times. I really wish I had some of those old Charlie Brewer articles from the Fishing Facts magazines of the early 70's. He had that knack of making you feel what he was doing. No fancy words; just solid facts based on great experience.
You would have loved them.

By the way, have a great holiday season. Oh, and that was a super interview of Scully. He is everything you said he is.
