The best advise I can give a beggining angler is to get to know the fish specie you will be targeting. Learn the fishes habits and there seasonal movements. A lot of information is available through magazines such as Bassmaster and In-Fisherman. If you read and try and understand the techniques explained in the pages of great bass fishing publications you can then learn how to approach different bodies of water in the proper way. Go to your favorite lake and practice as much as you can applying what you learn from information to the best of your ability and you will eventually start learning what works and what doesnt and why.
EDUCATION IS KEY! Understand your quarry. And location, bait selection and presentation will follow. Dont bite off more than you can chew, take your time and learn at your own pace. There are times when anglers who have been doing this all there lives take that for granted and have a hard time conveying there thoughts to novice anglers without sounding like they are speaking an alien language. Read as much as you can and no matter how well or poor a day on the water is, try and learn something from every trip.
