I forgot to mention I also put these rattles in some of my wooden crankbaits that I make or modify. I just drill a hole into the bait thats a little bigger than the light rattle and epoxy it in there with some of it hanging out for the extra sound.

Jonnie if you have some old Poes cranks that dont work just right you could experiment with them by adding the rattle inside and see what happens. Some of those Poes just need the lips redone on them and you can do that too. I love tinkering with different things as you can tell.

I guess most anglers love to tinker with baits. Texas Rig Jigs & Flippn/Pitchin Jigs I always change the skirts, add or remove rattles. Spinnerbaits I'll change the skirt & I have to have red headed spinnerbaits. Crankbaits I always change the hooks. These things are most do before using period!

Conley, Thanks for the info, but I use Poe's because they "don't" rattle. I use them in very deep clear water and don't want a rattle. I keep all my baits properly tuned, I know some folks don't know the importance of proper bait tuning, so I feature that in my seminar speakings. Thanks, Johnnie

That brings up a new question from me. What do you use to get in there and bend those eyes to get the lure tuned just right. I have used the needle nose but its just so hard to get it in there in between the split ring and the lip. I don't want to damage either one of them. Is there something special that you use to do this.

The hand made cranks that I been using have a real heavy eye on them. Once they are tuned they stay tuned but getting them there is a Pain.

If any one wants the info on these cranks get in touch with me at [email protected]. These are some great baits.
Thanks,
