I use a jig everytime I go out. I use them mostly on lay downs. I use three retrieves, hopping it off the bottom, lifting and slowly dropping it and swimming it. Last year we were on a small lake and every boat had hit this lay down. I threw a blk/blu w/blu pork, swimming it when a 5 pounder just nailed it. Summertime reaction bite.

Mike, don't forget the jig trailer. Pork frogs, salt craws, eels, worms, something to give the jig bulk and slow its fall. I never fish a jig alone without a trailer, usually pork or a plastic pork version. Good luck, Johnnie.
P. S. I believe you bought Bomber Flat-A-? These are great baits.

Yep, it's a bomber flat-A
So far it's been too cold to fish down here.
Like in the 40-50s at night now.
I also have a bunch of trailers I bought for my spinner bait (when I first began fishing) that I can use for my jigs now.
Thanks Johnnie and all.

Crankbaits are one of the most difficult lures to fish in different places in my opinion. I love catching bass on crankbaits when they are biting. It is exciting to be reeling one in and have a big bass snatch it and your rod tip shoots over. Everyone on this site is very helpful and informative.
