Well I'll go along with everyone else on the Rat-L-Trap, and would perfer it in the chrome/black back.

There is another quite similar called a Manniac. This has more of a shad appearance. I've done extremely well with this lure.

As for regular lip crankbaits I go with with several of the Norman series, but if I had only one it would be the newer model - Middle N in three different colors - shad, spring crawfish and fire tiger.

I have always done well with a couple of old timers, J10 and J9 jointed rapalas in (silver/Black) worked slowly under the surface. I also like the Manns Baby minus 1 in fire tiger around shallow cover. However; my largest crank bait bass was 6 lbs, it was caught on an old model cotton cordell crank bait 10 years ago. I still have the cordell bait but dont use it anymore. Last year I started using Lucky Craft pointers in size 78 aurora) and was very happy with these.

Im in love with the new Rapala DT series. I caught a Bass, a pike, and a nice sized crappie. I caught all of these on the red crawdad pattern. I the caught a small bass on the silver and black minnow pattern. These lures are great for tickling the top of vegetation because they stay at the required depth for almost the entire cast. I havent had to much luck with the rattlin rapalas though. I only have caught one bass.

Johnnie, thanks for the reminder on my Deep Tiny N. That little dark green with the black tiger stripes has always been a good one. Even won a tournament for me on the Mississippi River. I've got the same model in several colors and the white/chartreuse and bone/orange are the only two who have come close to the dark green job. By the way, I've added some red to that lure by replacing the hooks with Daiichi Bleeding Bait trebles. That should make it look better to you - or not.
